Go behind the scenes!

June 10, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen Leave a Comment

This is one of those “love ’em or loathe ’em” posts. I happen to love writing short stories, and I really appreciate the support of readers willing to take a chance on a short story – a 20-30 minute read – especially in these inflated times.

Not sure inflated works in that sentence, but prices sure are inflated at the moment.

Behind the Scenes is capped at 0.99. I will bundle the stories at a later date, which means a better deal for interested readers who are willing to wait.

But what’s so special about Behind the Scenes? Of course, I am the wrong person to ask, but I had a lot of fun writing this one. I know, I know, I say that all the time, and it’s true. But Behind the Scenes is set in an alternative timeline, where we meet Maratse and Kamiila Sorsuttartoq from the Guerrilla Greenland series. Petra pops up in the novellas from the series, and she’s…  well she’s married, with two kids!

What?

Yeah, I know. Like I said… so much fun to write. And in an alternative time… anything goes!

But wait, Petra’s not in this one.

And it’s pretty much just another survival/hunt – i.e. being hunted – story set in winter in Greenland. Now, that might sound familiar. It’s what I do. But a lot of readers seem to like these kind of stories. If that’s you, then feel free to dive on in!

And that brings me to the point of this post (finally, sigh) Behind the Scenes comes out today, on Amazon (link), and in the Kindle Unlimited streaming programme.

You can read Behind the Scenes as a standalone short story, jump into the series of novellas beginning with Arctic State, or read the first of the Guerrilla Greenland shorts: Radio Free Will.

SOS: ZOMBEA

September 4, 2021 by Christoffer Petersen 2 Comments

It’s Saturday already! I know I won’t have a story ready every Saturday, but I dug this one up (slight pun intended) following a spate of zombie movies.

I watched Zombieland recently, and loved it. Just my humour. Then I watched the sequel and didn’t love that. And then I went old school and watched Night of the Living Dead, and while I didn’t love it, I’m pleased I’ve seen it. If that makes any sense. Hopefully it will, unlike my short story: ZOMBEA.

Actually, I’m being hard on myself. One way or another, I think this story makes a lot of sense, especially given the current global situation. You can read ZOMBEA for free directly on my website via this link.

In other news, the End of the Line Kickstarter project is very close to funding. If you’re interested in good stories for a few dollars to keep you entertained during the zombie apocalypse, you might want to check it out.

Otherwise, grab a coffee, candles, and freeze-dried rations, and spend 5 minutes with ZOMBEA!

Arghhhhave a great weekend, folks!

SOS: In Strange Hands

August 21, 2021 by Christoffer Petersen 2 Comments

Fenna is back! And if I’m quick, she might just go live in time to fit the category Stories on Saturdays!

In Strange Hands is a quick read set shortly after the events in The Shaman’s House, the last book in the Greenland Trilogy. I wrote this story to help me figure out some “stuff” for the next Konstabel Fenna Brongaard book I hope to start writing soon.

In Strange Hands is available for free via this BookFunnel link, or via the same link on the story page on my website.

Have a great Saturday, folks! 🙂

Free Constable Maratse short story

February 4, 2021 by Christoffer Petersen 1 Comment

I’ve challenged myself to write a short story every week in 2021. It’s going well so far, i.e. I have yet to miss a week. If you’re curious, then feel free to grab a copy of A Bright Pink Hat featuring Constable David Maratse.

It’s a gentle character piece, in which we follow Maratse on a tiny adventure at the end of a long day. Here’s the blurb:

At the end of a long day… there’s trouble in Greenland!

Constable David Maratse is ready to slump on the sofa with a book at the end of a long shift. But when a sledge dog puppy carrying a bright pink hat crosses his path, Maratse is compelled to investigate.

A Bright Pink Hat is a short and gentle character piece for new readers and existing fans of Greenland’s most popular fictive Police Constable.

Don’t buy this anywhere! Grab your free copy via this link. It is available in Kindle, ePub and PDF formats, and you can add it on Goodreads here.
