Reasons to get lost in 2023

January 22, 2023 by Christoffer Petersen 2 Comments

If you’ve been following the Greenland Missing Persons series of novellas – with a few novels thrown in – you might be interested to know how the rest of 2023 is shaping up for Petra and the gang.

Yes, I called them a gang. 🙂

Here’s the links, brief story descriptions, and release dates for each novella:

The Mammoth Hunt

GMP #17

Release Date: August 2, 2023

Story hook: When a party of enthusiastic fossil hunters descends on the remote Arctic village of Uummannaq, Constable Petra ‘Piitalaat’ Jensen picks up the pieces when one of them is left behind.

The Fox that Barked

GMP #18

Release Date: August 28, 2023

Story hook: When a local environmentalist raises the alarm about astronomical levels of methane close to a remote community, no one listens until she goes missing.

The Ptarmigan Wing

GMP #19

Release Date: September 26, 2023

Story hook: When a young boy kills his first ptarmigan, the family is disturbed by human blood on the wing and the news that another boy from the village is missing.

The Forsaken Fjord

GMP #20

Release Date: October 31, 2023

Story hook: When three teenagers dare each other to sail into the forsaken fjord, it’s up to Constable Petra Jensen to find them.

The Empty Camp

GMP #21

Release Date: December 21, 2023

Story hook: When a guide from a cruise ship discovers an empty camp with signs of a struggle, it’s up to Constable Petra Jensen to follow the trail of blood into the mountains.

I really appreciate the time readers have spent following Petra in her search for missing persons in Greenland. If you’re just tuning in, as tempting as it might be to jump in with one of the later stories, it really makes sense to start with the first in the series.

The Boy with the Narwhal Tooth

GMP #1

Release Date: June 30, 2020

Story hook: When a young Greenlandic boy is reported missing almost 12 months to the day he disappeared, newly trained Police Constable Petra Jensen travels to the far north of Greenland to find him.

Sorry. 😉

Gosh, I’ve been writing about Petra for a while now.

All the narwhal teeth!

November 4, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen 2 Comments

Four editions so far! Rather, four languages. I’ve been very fortunate to work with three fantastic translators, each of whom has brought The Boy with the Narwhal Tooth to life in French, Polish, and Portuguese.

So here’s a quick shout out to Françoise Chardonnier for the French version, Ewa Sherman for translating into Polish, and Ana Catarina Palma Neves for the Portuguese edition (coming soon).

You can meet the translators on this page. If you’re an author looking for translators in these languages, I wholeheartedly recommend contacting Françoise, Ewa, and Ana Catarina.

Intrigued?

August 16, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen Leave a Comment

The Intrigue in the North (Amazon link) goes live today! This is the fifteenth in the Greenland Missing Persons series. Crazy, but fun. I’m aiming for twenty, of course, but then I told myself I would stop when I had written the twentieth Maratse novella.

We’ll see.

Until then, I’ll leave you with a bit of intrigue.

The Last Day of Old Magic

August 9, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen Leave a Comment

No spoilers, but this could be a teary one. The Last Day of Old Magic (Amazon link) is live today.

I knew this was coming, and I’ve been dropping hints all the way, but now the day has arrived, I’m excited to chart Luui’s story from this point on.

If that wasn’t a spoiler, I don’t know what is.

Here’s the link for the book page.

EDIT (August 9, 2022): Hmmm… clearly wrote this ahead of publication. 😉

Opening Beat!

July 7, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen Leave a Comment

Done! It’s live today! Crocodile Beat (Amazon link) is a slightly different Greenland Missing Persons novel. As I mention in the introduction, I wanted to explore a story in the series that wasn’t told through Petra’s POV. Crocodile Beat is that story.

Set between The Boreal Tattoo and The Last Day of Old Magic, Crocodile Beat is a mix of everything and everyone connected with the series.

It was a blast to write, and is the usual fast-paced story with plenty going on, without too many twists.

It’s plug and play, folks. I hope you have fun with it!

Oh, and there’s a good chance I might have left a certain motive hanging, just for fun. You’ve been warned. 😉

Here’s the Amazon link again.

Inflight Entertainment!

April 19, 2022 by Christoffer Petersen Leave a Comment

Okay, so, Crocodile Beat is fun, and, as usually happens, I had yet another idea. Inflight Entertainment is a short story plucked from the novel. No spoilers, but I’ll be posting Inflight Entertainment for free around the time of the release of Crocodile Beat.

It’s a story within a story because they are too much fun not to write!

Link to follow in a blog post later, but you can find out more about Crocodile Beat in Petra’s Kickstarter campaign!

Yeah, it’s just a sneaky and shameless way of keeping you coming back for more. No social media, so … what’s an author to do? 😉
