Well, this story took me back – literally! I’ve always known “something” about Petra’s past. This short novel fills in the blanks.

Yep, this is happening! Finally, Petra’s backstory in one – if I may say so myself – gorgeous homage to everything I love about Greenland, about Piitalaat, and the stories I’ve been telling these past few years.
I’ve always known where Petra came from, but I’ve never explored it in a story, beyond the fact she lost her parents when she was tiny. It’s time to reveal what actually happened, and then what happened to Petra, and how it defined her.
So Piitalaat will be a true origin story, for adult readers, but with a cute cover that is 100% Petra! I’m doing a Kickstarter for Piitalaat together with Crocodile Beat. Here’s the link.

Petra coming to a Kickstarter near you!
This is it! Launching! I’ve hinted at a Maratse Kickstarter campaign, but as so often happens at the moment, Petra gets her way! So the Maratse Kickstarter will come later, making way for Petra, or should I say Piitalaat? 🙂
Why Kickstarter? Because it’s fun! And, because Brandon Sanderson just blew the roof off the potential for a Kickstarter campaign with his mega-massive-million dollar book campaign. Yes, I backed it. 😉 I mean, four Brandon Sanderson novels? I had too.
My own goals are somewhat more modest. But, hopefully, no less exciting. I mean, I’m excited about Crocodile Beat (loving the story) and equally excited about… wait for it… Piitalaat – Petra’s origin story! Here’s a teaser image:
Finally, this Christmas, readers can find out just what happened to Petra’s parents, and walk alongside Petra through the rough and formative years of her youth. Ever wondered why she’s so curious and impulsive? Piitalaat will explain it all while taking the reader on a fun and fraught adventure in Greenland.
Like my previous successful Kickstarter, there are stretch rewards. But I’m saying nothing, not a thing about them until launch… in 2 days! 🙂
