Sometimes, like Petra, I bite off more than I can chew. Or, rather, my creative juices need to be topped up, and my brain just says something like nah… I’m going to need a minute. So, if you recently had a Tundra Beat is cancelled email from the Zon, then, yes, that’s true, but I’m fixing it as I write this, or as you are reading this, more likely. So it’s not cancelled, it’s delayed. Big difference. 🙂

I think Tundra Beat has been bothering me for a little while now. I’ve been working on it for what seems like a loooooong time, And I think I’ve figured out the problem… One of the characters is supposed to be a wolf, not a bear. I made the cover ages ago and the bear seemed like a good idea at the time, but the story evolved. And guess what? No bear!

And now it’s time to fix the cover, to check the map, to run through things a couple more times.

Yeah, I know, cosmetic stuff (when it comes to the cover) but it’s important for me to get it right. So, while I fix the cover, I’ll give you a sneak peak of the map (above).

Sometimes this “one man band” thing can be a little tiring. 😉

I do love it, though!

I’ll admit, I’m busy writing at the moment, so I’m doing some rapid photo posts to keep the blog going while I wrestle with plots and characters deviating from them! 🙂

The goal for this August is to simply get back into the groove! I need to paddle. More on this later.

Short post today, and we’ll finish off with the sculling draw. 😉

I don’t know where I was when I did some ‘research’ but I know it was back in 2010. I have an idea it was because I had sat next to a French man on a Dash 7 and been quit impressed by his tattoo – on the back of his neck – of the tip of an Inuit harpoon. Was I thinking of getting such a tattoo? Probably. Did I? Not that I remember. 😉

However, this is a nice segue into a not-so-subtle reminder that I am currently writing a serialised novel featuring Constable David Maratse and a hunter on Substack.

Chapter 7 of Piniartoq is out tomorrow CET at one minute past midnight. But if you’re in the USA, for example, you can read it today. Bonus. 🙂

My Sherlock Holmes Kickstarter campaign ends today at 23:59 CET. That would be a minute before midnight in Denmark on Tuesday August 20. 😉 I’m still learning the ropes on Kickstarter, even though I’ve done a few campaigns now. But there’s always something new to learn, and plenty of mistakes to make along the way.

Sherlock Holmes and The Gallows Growler has reached 57% funding, and I really don’t know how far it will go. But, if you like the idea of new Sherlock Holmes stories with a Greenlandic (and Scandinavian) twist, then please check it out and see if there is anything that takes your fancy.

Okay, so I’m trawling through the hard drive and a I found “that day in Qaanaaq” (2011) when my class and me spent the day making video for our horror video for our English lesson. Yep, ask a bunch of middle graders at the top of the world about ideas for a special project and that’s what you get.

It might explain my face. Or the expression, at least. 😉

But then, I was lucky to get out of there with my life! Hmm, as Maratse might say. Was that day the beginning of something?
