Seriously, I have to hand it to the guy, Trump knows how to make a headline! Today, the Danish news is full of Trump Jnr’s visit to Greenland. I can only imagine what the news is in Greenland itself, or the States. I don’t think I’ll have to search hard to find it. I just need to take a few deep breaths before doing so. 😉
The last time this came up, I wrote Arctic State. That little side project turned into a whole series, with more on the way. This time… Well, I don’t know. But it sure is interesting.
If anyone is in doubt, I support the idea of an independent Greenland, i.e. independent of Denmark and any other country. I just don’t know when it might be realistic for Greenland to become independent, and a lot has to happen before it can ever be feasible or sustainable. My sincere hope is that Greenland doesn’t sell out – ground and resources, not sovereignty (I sincerely hope) – to the most attractive bidder. It could end very ugly.
