Introducing Fantasy Friday

Yesterday I said I love thrillers, and I do. But what I really love is fantasy!

Yep, I am a frustrated writer of fantasy, in that I haven’t written enough, and rarely sell a single word of it. I was never meant to write crime books. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing alongside Maratse and Petra, I love exploring Greenland with them, if only to get it out of my system. But fantasy is what I love, which probably explains the mystical element of a lot of my stories.

Fantasy Friday posts, then, are about exploring my fantasy writing, talking about works in progress, charting my return to Dungeons and Dragons (actually, more of a first than a return – I’ll explain on Fridays), and, more than likely, sharing a bit of fantasy artwork.

Is Fantasy Friday for you?

Possibly.

But, really, it’s just for me. I need it, and I need to embrace it. 2024 is all about embracing the stuff I have yet to do because the other stuff was selling.

The funny thing about sales tanking – see Monday’s post – is that I’m no longer bound to write something that sells. I can write anything.

I like that.

So, in a way, Fantasy Friday could also be called Freedom Friday, as I intend to set myself free!

Chris
