The above photo is our “dog yard”. This photo is from October 16, 2008. This was the beginning of our second winter with the dogs and the time when I was beginning to appreciate that the ravens I loved could also be a real pain in the tail feathers!
I used one of the packing crates we had sent from Denmark (thanks, Sander!) to make a storage box, and then tacked on drying racks for the fish remains we picked up from the fish factory to feed the dogs. The flies were gone by this time of the year, but it wasn’t quite cold enough for everything to freeze, not quickly anyway, so a combination of freezing and drying seemed to be the way to go.
The ravens agreed.
But then, as they plucked the fish from the rack, they got greedy, and in this terribly grainy shot, I caught them fighting.
They fought.
I picked up the fish and hung them back on the rack.
And so we danced!
