You might have wondered where the photos for my Greenland Missing Persons covers come from. Too bad if you haven’t, I’m going to tell you! 🙂 This photo is from the other end of the inhabited part of Uummannaq Island, taken in January 2007, when the sea ice was struggling to form.
I haven’t quite got the hang of covers yet, but I’ve chosen to use my own photos and invert them for the Greenland Missing Persons series. Then I add some colour. The photo above was the starting point for The Girl with the Raven Tongue. Yes, I choose photos I have taken, but not necessarily in the places the stories are set.
Forgive me, but I’m guessing you didn’t notice. 😉
