Three days on the water! Day 2 of 3

Yes, our camp looked like a small hardware store had exploded. But it was a perfect start to the day. Lars prepared coffee, I took photos.

Wandering about on Bjørnø, you get a feel for the Danish countryside. It’s tame, managed, but the really wild bits of Denmark are the sea.

So we needed to get back on the water!

We got as far as Avernakø, which was kind of just around the corner. And after lunch the all-important chess rematch. Lars has beaten me at chess more times than I care to think about, but clearly we just had to “scale up”. Not sure Lars wants this documented, but that’s another “kill” right there. That makes a total of three wins. Not that day. Just in total! 😉

And then back on the water, to sneak around the corner to find another beach to sleep on.

I could mention the “boat” at this point. It’s a Hobie catamaran which is something between a kayak and a sailing cat. Lars and Suzi and the kids spent 18 months on the water with two of these boats. I spent three days. 😉 There is a propulsion drive too. It’s called the Mirage Drive and it’s easier to just see it in an action than for me to explain it. Lars and Suzi were sponsored by Hobie for their trip from Copenhagen to Istanbul. I’m just providing the link because I’m lazy. 🙂 It can be a wet ride, but almost efforltless compared to paddling.

No flintstones tonight. We were careful. We’re also careful to extinguish the fires and to remove all trace before we leave the next day.

Another obligatory selfie!

And another sunset!

We were blessed with glorius weather, and empty beaches.

And plenty of time for reflection. And no, not even one plot idea! Althought the added spectral effects in the photo are begging to be explored!

  1. This is wonderful! What an adventurer you are! (and I guess that would include exploring new territory with ‘Broken Braid’! 😮).
