Everything new is old again!

I had huge plans for blogging in 2024. Rather, I wanted to do something different and write more, mostly because I was concerned that I might have used the same photos more than once, perhaps even more than twice. However, what has happened is that I’m writing new content each day, and I spend time thinking more about that content, and doing less actual writing. Some of the posts with anecdotes of past adventures, for example, have been more creative than a quicker post where the focus is on the photos. This means they’ve been more creative, and I feel as though some of my creative juices have been tapped for the blogs rather than the stories. Not that the stories aren’t happening or aren’t creative, but I’m spreading myself too thin and I’m losing momentum. So, this photo from March 1, 2009 is quite appropriate, in that the above attempt to remove my eye with a dog whip was something I did to myself.

Self inflicted.

Like the plans – a little ambitious – for the blog.

So, folks, dear readers, after two months of trying soemthing different, it’s back to basics for me, with posts inspired by “on this day” photos, bringing you a little slice of Greenland, and other adventures, starting with a serious black eye but ending with a smile! 😉

  1. We’ll miss META MONDAYS, and all the rest – it was a noble goal and innovative twist – but truth be told, your Greenland photos and anecdotes are what brought me here in the first place and what I enjoyed the most! I am happy we’re going back to the Arctic!! 😀

    1. Thanks, Dave. I overreached, thinking that I wanted to try something different. It was a classic case of being a good idea at the time, but I hadn’t thought through the effort involved. I had a quick look at “ye olde hard drive” and discovered that there are plenty more photos that I haven’t used, and lots more stories to tell with a few words or more pictures. So, yes, we’re going North, Dave! 🙂
