I must admit, I am rather pleased with how this new cover for an old story worked out. I wrote The Bear Hunt several years ago while flying around Greenland as an external examiner for the spoken English exams in the far north. I have polished this new edition just a little – commas, I’m looking at you. But what I’m really excited about is the new cover.
I’ve always been fond of the original cover as it is a photo of our dogs pulling (i.e. me not running alongside them) our sledge across the sea ice close to Uummannaq on the west coast of Greenland. But the story is set way back in the past and the dogs’ traces and the sledge are modern. That has bothered me for a while, but I did not have the means – artistic or financial – to change it. And I promptly forgot all about it.
Until just a few days ago when I decided to have a go with the 3D assets and software I have.
Pause for big smile because, in my opinion at least, it just works!
Phew… not much more to say, other than I am a very happy bunny.
But what about the story, Chris? Oh, yeah, it still rocks! 🙂

While the original is still lovely, the new one (with your 3D Asset-Wrangling powers on steroids now) sells the action and the threat of danger much more clearly! Well Done!
Asset-wrangling! Love it! 🙂
