I’ve mentioned that I walked the dogs in the backyard. Well, I thought I’d show you the “backyard” with the help of a friend’s (Lars Poort) photos.
The larger photos are mine. 😉
You can almost see our house from here – far right.
Me and my dogs – Ninja (front) and Nansen. No, I didn’t name Ninja, but he earned that name!
Cute one of me and Nansen.
I love it, just love it, when ice axes are needed when walking the dogs!
I look at this photo, and I can remember just how happy I was in that moment. Brilliant!
Hi Chris – wonderful pictures! What happened to the dogs when you left Greenland? This is a personal question you don’t have to answer but why did you and Jane leave Greenland and have you been back since?
More David stories please.
Hi Eileen! Nansen went to the Children’s Home in Uummannaq. They had lots of dogs and used them to take the kids on long sledge trips. He had never pulled a sledge, but he was so pretty they decided to have him up at the home. So, you could say, he charmed his way in with his looks. 😉 I gave the other dogs to a friend who wanted to build a team. I gave him the sledge too. Sad days, really. As for why we came home… Well, it was time. I know that doesn’t tell you very much, but after 7 years at the top of the world, we were suddenly very far away from family. More David stories? Why, certainly. There are more scheduled for later this year. 🙂
