After a day out fishing from a small boat, the hard work was about to begin. I needed to make a new pilke to catch more fish.
Needed to fillet the fish we caught – fjord trout and catfish. The catfish was the reason I needed a new pilke! Dangerous buggers! Once it’s landed, you have to cut the head off to stop it biting, even when it’s dead!
Jane and I had the fillets, while the dogs got a treat on top of the dry (soaked) food that night. And yes, when it was dry food, I prepared it in the shower every night. The pellets needed to be soaked and doing that outside in freezing temperatures just didn’t work.
The shower smelled lovely, too! Dog food, fish entrails, and shampoo. What’s not to like?

I’m not sure I could cope with dead fish biting me
But then I suppose that could be called an eye for an eye, or a tooth for a tooth? 🙂
Absolutely, Julia! You got it. 🙂
