We collected fish heads for free down at the fish factory. We carried them uphill in a very oily backpack – sometimes we took a taxi (pickup truck). Then we dried the heads on the rack.
I busted the teeth out of the heads and filled a few buckets before giving them to the dogs.
We knew the dogs had enough food when they started to bury surplus heads – more of a problem than you might think.
