My sledge is in Uummannaq. I left it with a friend when we moved to Qaanaaq. There’s a rule: no sledges or qajaqs can be shipped in a container. I contemplated taking the sledge apart, but couldn’t face the idea of not being able to put it back together again. Oh, well. It’s like remembering a favourite old car and all the adventures you had when driving it. A little sad.
