I’m gearing up for a Kickstarter campaign to reboot my apocalyptic novel End of the Line to start on September 1. More details to follow, however, you might be interested to know that as the campaign progresses and hopefully funds, then stretch rewards will be available to all those who made the qualifying minimum pledge – about $2. The stretch rewards include a tonne of books at no extra charge once the campaign has unlocked the reward.
Aside from a revamped edition of End of the Line, backers will be able to choose additional rewards from a selection of my books for not a lot of money.
Additionally, and just in time for Christmas, fans of Maratse, Petra, and even Luui, can pledge to get themselves written into a short story (and all kinds of trouble) with their favourite characters to be delivered as an eBook on Christmas Eve this year (2021).
Kickstarter campaigns are “all or nothing”. If the campaign doesn’t fund backers don’t pay anything, but neither do they get any rewards. The best way to be sure of getting “rewards” is to tell everyone about the campaign, and share it on your Social Media.
Day 19: Eighth Update (6th on this website) 100% funded! THANK YOU!
The project is 100% funded, which means the stretch rewards (a.k.a. free books) are now potentially in reach. It can still go both ways, meaning that I want to wait with final “we did it” sigh for the last day of the campaign – and even then, when it is over. But I am quietly confident. If you are interested in the stretch rewards, please check out the campaign and share it where you can.
But even without stretch rewards, the bonus content of 5 short stories including: Devils, Dirt & Diesel, Denali Dreams, Downtown Disaster, Deadline, and DEFCON Dead has been unlocked.
Day 8: Fifth Update 81% funded
If we were close before… well, we’re into the 80s now! To celebrate that, and to thank all the backers so far, I have added another bonus short story to the campaign.
All backers at the DKK 15 End of the Line rebooted novel reward level will now get a fourth spin-off short story: Deadline, featuring local reporter Rachel Splint when she chases the story ripping through the heart of Alaska!
Day 6: Fourth Update 78% funded
I’ve added a paperback* to the reward levels. I should have done this from the start, but being new to Kickstarter, I hesitated. But it there’s now. The paperback, not signed, will include all the additional stories exclusive to the campaign. All backers of the paperback will also receive eBook versions of End of the Line and the additional stories exclusive to the campaign.
That’s three stories and counting, including: Devils, Dirt & Diesel, Denali Dreams, and Downtown Disaster. More on the way? We’ll see! 😉
*I have removed the paperback option due to concerns about the distribution of physical books as a result of pandemic supply problems.
Day 5: Third Update 77% funded
I’m adding a new exclusive short story to the campaign: Downtown Disaster, featuring Fire Chief Mat Grolsch.
End of the Line is dedicated to my uncle who was a firefighter in the UK, and was of course my idol. Sadly, he died of cancer aged 39. He is still sorely missed but not forgotten.
Day 4: Second Update 77% funded
So close now! I’m pulling things together and creating the pages for the short stories exclusive to the campaign, including: Devils, Dirt & Diesel (available at the very lowest reward level) and a special “funding bonus” story: Denali Dreams (available for all backers who pledge 15 DKK for the the rebooted End of the Line novel).
Please spread the word if you are able and share a link to the Kickstarter campaign: End of the Line.
Thank you!
Day 2: First Update 48% funded
Nearly halfway funded on Day 2 of the campaign, thanks to the fantastic backers who have got involved. I really hope the project funds so that I can fulfill the rewards, and, not least, start plotting the short stories for the backers who want to get into the plot! It will be so much fun to make that happen! Thank you!
The fellow in the image above is Nate, one of the main characters from End of the Line. He will be starring in the short story that all backers receive: Devils, Dirt & Diesel.
Phew… deep breath and fingers crossed!
