If you’ve read some of my books (especially the Guerrilla Greenland series) then the chances are high you’ve stumbled across a police cutter with the name Sisak. There are several Sisaks in Greenland, at least there were during the years Jane and I lived there. This is Sisak II in Uummannaq.
Sisak is a police cutter and often arrives in a settlement or small village complete with a legal team to process outstanding cases, etc. See how loose I am with the details there? I spent a lot of time over the years in the company of Greenland police officers – teaching, on committees, and socially – but I never met any lawyers or judges.
The keen eyed blog reader might notice a similarity with Sisak‘s colours and the Greenland flag, depicting a sunrise over the sea ice. All part of the service. 😉
The smaller boat to the right of Sisak is the hotel boat. I did a bit of guiding on that boat.
