You might have noticed but I’m doing a lot of Kickstarter campaigns this year. I see you smiling over there, and I’m smiling right back at you. I don’t advertise (can’t afford it) and often find myself getting squeezed out of the market when other authors and publishers trade on my name. That’s fine. But I can’t play along, so I have to think alternatively. Kickstarter allows me to do that, costing me just time and energy. I’ve had a few modest campaigns already this year. It’s time for “the big one”.
Phew… deep breath and all that.
It’s time to Go Big or Go Home!
This campaign will be for the Greenland Missing Persons stand-alone series. And, while I could settle for bringing out Glacier Beat all by its lonesome, I could also “Go Big!” which is – surprise – what I’ve decided to do. What this means is, I’ll be releasing book two in the series, Glacier Beat (already up for pre-order on Amazon), and I will also release Tundra Beat, the third in the Greenland Missing Persons stand-alone series of novels at the same time.
Both books will be published on Amazon (and elsewhere, eventually), but Tundra Beat will be exclusive to Kickstarter until after it is released.
Kickstarter campaigns, for me at least, are all about bundling books and other digital goodies. I say digital goodies as shipping gets a little crazy, and it’s simply cheaper for readers to buy a physical book from the store than it is for me to ship it. But I try to be creative with the goodies and build an interesting campaign with something for everyone.
The Tundra Beat Kickstarter campaign will include the following rewards for backers to pledge for, and assorted stretch rewards (as yet to be revealed) if the campaign funds and exceeds its funding goals.
There is no guarantee that the campaign will be successful, but here are the rewards I am adding (to be confirmed):
- Tundra Beat (eBook)
- Glacier Beat (eBook)
- Crocodile Beat (eBook)
- Join Petra in a short story (eBook 25+ pages)
- Join Petra in a novella (eBook 65+ pages)
- Join Petra in a ‘Beat’ novel (eBook 200+ pages)
- Write your own Arctic Crime and Adventure Story (self study course)
- Write your own Arctic Crime and Adventure Story (self study course) with Feedback
- And join Tuukula in… everything!
Just edited this post (April 6) as we’re live and Going Big!
More soon…
Chris
That course sounds like a good idea!

I agree! It all sounds fascinating and definitely worth signing up to!
Thanks, Isabella! Although I’m already rethinking goals and whatnot. 🙂
