Thrill of the Chase

I love chase scenes – watching them, writing them, even listening to them. One of my all time favourites is the foot chase in Point Break with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. Brilliant! Then you’ve got the bank scene from Heat – not so much of a chase as an all out war on the streets – but the music, the build up, well, you’ve got to see it.

So, my parents – yes, parents – forced me to see Baby Driver this Christmas. It’s good, great music, of course, but…

Well, there’s this guy – Daniel Pemberton and he seems to have figured out exactly what to compose when it comes to a good chase scene. I thought he had cracked it with Guy Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E., but apparently not. Because when I think of my own chase scene in Pulp Driver, it’s the King Arthur soundtrack I have in my head.
